APPROACH THE USAGE OF THE PREPOSITIONS “AT, IN, ON” OF SOME NON-UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN HO CHI MINH CITY IN 2018

Abstract

 

The paper presents the results of the survey on the use of the preposition “at, in, on” on the semantic and grammatical planes to find common errors as well as the causes of errors of non-language students in order to propose solutions to limit errors in the use of prepositions. The research results show that the number of students making mistakes makes up more than 50% of the total number of sentences in the preposition survey “at, in, on” in terms of semantic and structural grammar. Thereby, the article proposes a number of measures to help Vietnamese students overcome the errors that they often encounter in the process of acquiring English in general based on manipulations, methods of qualitative analysis with quantitative analysis in the process of surveying the use of the prepositions “at, in, on” of some non-specialized university students in Ho Chi Minh City in 2018.
