Abstract

The article presents the results of a study with 49 teachers and 203 grade-5 students in 5 primary schools in Ho Chi Minh City answering a questionnaire related to the current status of organizing experiential activities in science for primary students. The findings show that the experiential activities contributed to achieving important objectives of science education, and the contents of the activities were closely linked to the Science curriculum. Also, teaching modes, teaching aids and assessment strategies were applied diversely. This research results suggest some solutions for primary schools to organize activities to experience science in a more diverse way, and each activity should be designed in a way that consider multiple intelligence so that all students can participate in the activity.
