SỬ DỤNG THÂN CÂY DỪA NƯỚC TRONG THIẾT KẾ BÀI HỌC STEM “ÁO PHAO TỪ THÂN CÂY DỪA NƯỚC” MÔN KHOA HỌC TỰ NHIÊN LỚP 8

Abstract

STEM education is a teaching model that is focused and widely deployed in the 2018 general education curriculum. Besides, local educational content is also a new important point in the curriculum. It is associated with the openness of the curriclum, specifically, based on the characteristics of each locality, teachers can choose appropriate knowledge content to integrate into teaching or propose in the local education curriculum. This article presents a study on the local context of Long An province with abundant nipa tree resources to design the STEM lesson "Life jackets made of the trunk of the nipa tree" applied in the implementation of teaching density and uplift pressure in the Density and Pressure for Grade 8. Lessons were experimented with a group of 8th-grade students to recognize the relevance of the topic and students’ acceptance of materials. Research results are a reference source for the implementation of STEM education in suburban and rural areas.
