Abstract

Based on China’s CNKI database, the article analyzed research on Chinese language learning strategies in China from four aspects: (1) development trends, (2) research participants, (3) research method, and (4) research content. The study shows that research on Chinese learning strategies has gone through three stages: the initial stage (1998 - 2010), the prosperous stage (2011 - 2021), and the decline stage (2022 - 2023). The research participants are diverse in terms of country, Chinese language level of proficiency, and learners’ educational level. The research methods used are also diverse, but mainly quantitative ones. The research content is diverse, not only paying attention to overall learning strategies but also strategies for learning knowledge and skills. Finally, the article offers some suggestions for research on Vietnamese learners’ Chinese language learning strategies.
