SUGGESTIONS FOR SUPPORTING TEACHERS IN TEACHING SENTENCES IN CONTEXT (TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE 2018 VIETNAMESE LANGUAGE ARTS AND LITERATURE CURRICULUM)

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine how sentence reception and creation were taught in the 2018 Vietnamese Language Arts and Literature Curriculum. The study identifies three key factors that impact student learning: students themselves, teaching content, and teaching activities. Based on the results, the paper offers suggestions to help teachers address challenges in teaching sentences in context, in line with the 2018 Curriculum. These suggestions include a set of guiding questions that help teachers identify essential teaching content, outline the procedures for organizing teaching activities, and develop a system of exercises focused on communication activities. The exercise system for sentence reception and creation in context is categorized based on cognitive levels: knowledge, understanding, and application, in alignment with the 2018 Vietnamese Language Arts and Literature Curriculum.
