A PROPOSED SET OF CRITERIA FOR ASSESSING PROBLEM-SOLVING COMPETENCE IN PRIMARY SCHOOL SCIENCE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Problem-solving competence is one of the necessary competencies for individuals in the 21st century. To support instruction aimed at developing problem-solving competence in science education, it is necessary to evaluate the level of students’ competence development through the learning process. This research proposes a framework comprising four components of problem-solving competence in science learning, which serves as the basis for the development of 14 specific assessment criteria. The results of surveying primary teachers show that the proposed set of criteria is both necessary and appropriate for assessing students’ problem-solving competence. Moreover, teachers can use the criteria easily when teaching Science 4 in practice.
