EVALUATING THE APPLICATION OF THE STEM MODEL IN TEACHING “HUMAN AND HEALTH” IN GRADE 4 SCIENCE IN HO CHI MINH CITY
Main Article Content
Abstract
STEM education aims to equip students with the skills and attitudes required to thrive as global citizens in an era of rapid development. The implementation of STEM education fosters engagement and ignites a passion for learning among students. Although STEM education is gaining attention in Vietnamese primary schools, its widespread adoption remains limited. This article presents the findings of a survey conducted with 160 teachers and 310 fourth-grade students in Ho Chi Minh City, evaluating the application of STEM teaching practices. The results indicate that students have participated in various STEM activities. While teachers are generally aware of STEM education, most are fewer than five years of experience. Furthermore, teachers exhibit a strong interest in and understanding of the relevance, benefits, and effectiveness of integrating STEM lessons into the Grade 4 Science curriculum, particularly concerning the content area of "Humans and Health."
