Abstract

Child sexual abuse is a crime that has been studied in many countries to develop appropriate prevention and intervention measures. This article examines primary school teachers' evaluation of learning materials designed to support the teaching of sexual abuse prevention skills to primary school students, as well as the challenges they face when using these materials in their teaching. This study used a mixed research design using questionnaires and interviews with 534 primary school teachers currently working in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Can Tho. It was found that although most teachers highly valued the materials for teaching sexual abuse prevention skills, they faced difficulties in implementing and effectively communicating these resources to students. As a result, child sexual abuse prevention remains limited in practice. The findings provide an important foundation for further in-depth research on the application of these materials in teaching and training activities for primary school teachers and students, aiming to raise awareness and improve the implementation of sexual abuse prevention skills in real-life contexts.
