EDUCATING PATRIOTISM AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN HO CHI MINH CITY

Abstract
This article examines how patriotism has been taught to students at universities in Ho Chi Minh City. Using a survey of 350 students and analyzing relevant documents, the research results show that students have a good awareness of the importance of patriotism. The most effective methods of educating patriotic content are through political and ideological activities, and various extra-curricular programs. The study also highlights the limitations in students' perceptions of patriotism, as well as the ineffectiveness of some educational methods. It then proposes several measures to enhance the effectiveness of patriotic education for students, including: updating content, curriculum, and teaching methods; increasing more practical, experiential activities; integrating information technology; strengthening propaganda and educational efforts; and fostering greater collaboration between schools, families, and society.
