Main Article Content
Abstract
Tran Thuy Mai is a female writer who made a breakthrough by first stepping into the historical realm, marking a fresh return with a renewed artistic approach that contributes to enriching the style and diversity of her writing. Her two historical novels, Tu Du thai hau and Cong chua Dong Xuan, revolve around the Nguyen Dynasty, from its founding days to its fall under French colonialism. The female narrative subject has constructed the historical backdrop of the Nguyen Dynasty, transitioning from the royal court life to the fate of the nation, where women become the central figures in shaping history - something quite rare in this genre. Therefore, the article focuses on historical discourse with a female narrative subject, analyzing the perspective of women on significant historical events, constructing the image of women as central figures, and reassessing the role of men in a historical period that has passed.
