PROCESS OF MAKING PILLS WITH ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY FROM RUBY GUAVA LEAF EXTRACT

Abstract
Vietnam has a long-standing tradition of herbal medicine, with numerous natural remedies and medicinal plants used for treatment and health enhancement. Traditional medicine commonly utilizes various forms, such as liquid extracts, herbal pills, and powders. This study aims to conduct a formulation process for transforming Red Ruby guava leaf extract into antioxidant-rich herbal pills. Following the principles of traditional medicine, including the balance of Yin and Yang and the classification of medicinal properties, the formulated pills demonstrated antioxidant potential through the reducing power method. Each pill (m=2,2 g) exhibited a reducing capacity equivalent to ascorbic acid at a concentration of 9,9 µg/mL.
