FANTASY CHARACTERS IN THE SHORT STORIES BY NGUYEN QUANG THIEU

Abstract
This article analyzes the world of fantasy characters in the short stories by Nguyen Quang Thieu. Taking fantasy as a central mode of representation, the writer has created a richly imaginative fictional universe with a variety of supernatural figures: ghosts of the dead, people with special abilities, and characters bearing sacred or divine attributes. Through these characters, the writer offers a new interpretation of the mysterious spiritual world of humans while expressing his perspective and concepts about human life. The diversity in the writer’s artistic world also contributes to creating a new look for the contemporary Vietnamese short story genre.
