APPLYING DIGITAL TOOLS IN STEM EDUCATION TO DEVELOP STUDENTS' DESIGN THINKING
Main Article Content
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Amid the digital transformation of education, the integration of digital tools into STEM education presents significant opportunities for pedagogical innovation while fostering design thinking (DT) in students. Building upon a prior study, "A STEM Teaching Process to Develop Design Thinking for Lower Secondary School Students," this paper advances the established process by incorporating a curated selection of digital tools tailored to the objectives of each teaching phase. Through a synthesis of theoretical foundations and a review of relevant literature, this study proposes a flexible framework for a STEM-DT teaching process. This framework empowers teachers to select and implement appropriate digital tools for various learning activities. The findings help to concretize digital transformation strategies within STEM education, providing teachers with the resources to facilitate creative learning and to simultaneously cultivate both design thinking and digital competencies in lower secondary school students.
