A LITERATURE REVIEW ON TEACHING EFFECTIVENESS IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

Teaching effectiveness is evidence of the training process, ensuring the attainment of course and program learning outcomes. It is usually measured by learners’ academic performance and feedback from relevant stakeholders, with learners’ evaluations being given top priority. This article reviews related studies on teaching effectiveness in three aspects: components of teaching effectiveness, approaches to measuring teaching effectiveness, and factors influencing teaching effectiveness. The review focuses specifically on components related to the qualities and competencies, based on the CIPO model. The research results provide a foundation for developing a theoretical framework on lecturers’ teaching effectiveness and for subsequent research.
