EFFECTIVENESS OF USING YOUGLISH ON AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS’ ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION COMPREHENSIBILITY AT HO CHI MINH CITY VOCATIONAL COLLEGE

Nghiên cứu đánh giá hiệu quả sử dụng YouGlish, công cụ hỗ trợ cải thiện phát âm tiếng Anh, cho sinh viên trường nghề tại Việt Nam. Trong bối cảnh tiếng Anh là ngoại ngữ (EFL) như Việt Nam, phát âm có ảnh hưởng rất lớn đến mức độ thành công của giao tiếp. Tuy nhiên, đa số sinh viên không có nhiều tài liệu, mô hình phát âm chuẩn xác cũng như cơ hội thực hành. Nghiên cứu này áp dụng thiết kế thực nghiệm với 40 sinh viên năm hai chuyên ngành Công nghệ ô tô tại một trường cao đẳng nghề ở Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh. Trong suốt bốn tuần, YouGlish được tích hợp vào các hoạt động thực hành phát âm. Dữ liệu nghiên cứu thu thập qua các bài kiểm tra độ hiểu phát âm trước và sau can thiệp cùng với bảng câu hỏi khảo sát nhận thức của sinh viên. Điểm số định lượng từ bài kiểm tra được phân tích bằng kiểm định t cho mẫu ghép đôi. Kết quả cho thấy điểm số độ hiểu phát âm của sinh viên tăng lên từ trước đến sau áp dụng công cụ YouGlish. Ngoài ra, sinh viên cho biết nhận thức rõ hơn về phát âm của mình và có thái độ rất tích cực đối với tính hữu ích cũng như dễ sử dụng của YouGlish, điều này phù hợp với mô hình chấp nhận công nghệ (Technology Acceptance Model). Kết quả này cho thấy việc tăng cường tiếp xúc với các mẫu phát âm chuẩn qua nền tảng video giúp người học nhận ra các đặc trưng ngữ âm quan trọng và cải thiện độ rõ ràng khi gaio tiếp. Nghiên cứu nhấn mạnh giá trị của việc tích hợp các công cụ trực tuyến như YouGlish vào giảng dạy phát âm tiếng Anh, đặc biệt trong môi trường nghề hạn chế thời gian. Bài viết cũng đề xuất những khuyến nghị sư phạm để giảng dạy phát âm và ứng dụng công nghệ trong dạy và học tiếng Anh.
