THE INTERDISCIPLINARY FIELD OF LITERATURE AND MUSIC: AN OVERVIEW OF KEY APPROACHES AND TERMINOLOGY
Main Article Content
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study systematizes the historical development of the interdisciplinary study of Western literature and music, thereby substantiating the core thesis that the evolution of this field can be explained through a logical methodological trajectory. Beginning with the method of formal comparison and the construction of structural classification systems, this field of study later made an interpretive turn toward cultural studies, and was ultimately synthesized within the theoretical framework of intermediality. By mapping the theoretical landscape, this study provides a terminological toolkit and preliminary suggestions for Vietnamese academia.
