BUILDING INTERACTIVE EXPERIMENTS ON SMARTPHONES USING THE PHYPHOX APP IN TEACHING THE "OSCILLATIONS" AND "WAVES" TOPICS – 11TH-GRADE PHYSICS TO DEVELOP STUDENTS' PHYSICS COMPETENCE
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper presents the research results on designing and implementing interactive experiments on smartphones using the Phyphox app to support the teaching of the "Oscillations" and "Waves" topics in the 11th-grade Physics curriculum. The developed experiments allow students to investigate simple harmonic motion, damped oscillations, measure the speed of sound in the air, and simulate standing waves by utilizing the built-in sensors in smartphones, such as the accelerometer, microphone. Using the Phyphox app enables direct data measurement and analysis on the phone, effectively replacing specialized experimental equipment that is often expensive and not yet available in many high schools today. These experiments not only reduce costs but are also easy to implement in group settings, thereby enhancing students' skills in practical work, data analysis, and explaining physical phenomena. The study affirms the potential of integrating common digital technology into physics teaching as a practical solution in the context of digital transformation and educational innovation, aiming to develop students' physics competence.
