HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS’ COMPETENCY IN ORGANIZING EXPERIENTIAL AND CAREER GUIDANCE ACTIVITIES IN KON TUM
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study assesses high school teachers' competency in organizing experiential and career guidance activities (ECGAs) and their use of methods for developing this competency in Kon Tum within the context of implementing the 2018 General Education Program. A survey of 231 teachers was conducted using a 55-item questionnaire, and the data were analyzed with JASP. Teachers rated their competency in organizing ECGAs as fairly good, with collaboration with other educational stakeholders receiving the lowest rating. Competency development methods explained 32,2% of the variance in teachers' competency to organize ECGAs. Notably, engagement in action research in teachers' own classrooms had a statistically significant effect on the development of this competency. The findings provide a useful basis for local education administrators to design appropriate professional development plans that meet the requirements of the new curriculum.
